Peninsula Education Foundation proudly funds the High School Science & Engineering Fair, a celebration of creativity, innovation, and scientific discovery. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, February 6, at Los Verdes Golf Course and will showcase the remarkable talent of local high school students.
With over 130 projects on display and more than 140 esteemed judges, this year’s fair promises to inspire and amaze. Students will present groundbreaking research across 13 diverse categories, including Biomedical Engineering, Robotics & Intelligent Machines, and Behavioral Science.
Winners of the fair will advance to the Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair, with a select group of students moving on to the prestigious Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair. Held in Columbus, Ohio, this global competition brings together the brightest young minds from around the world to compete at the highest level of STEM research.
Events like this are only possible through the generosity of PEF donors, whose support fuels opportunities that inspire the next generation of innovators. Elevate your game this summer and register today for High School Summer Sports camps.
PEF’s Summer Sports Alliance is open to all high school student-athletes (incoming 9th-12th graders) regardless of where the student-athlete attends school during the school year, including districts other than PVPUSD. These summer sports camps are a great way to train and develop technical skills and strength with teammates and coaches. Camps are offered at both Palos Verdes High and Peninsula High School.
Camps will run from June 9 to July 13, 2025, excluding Thursday, June 19, and Friday, July 4. New this year, additional sessions will be offered from July 28 to August 8. PVPUSD campuses are closed on Wednesday, June 19 and Friday, July 4.

New for Summer 2025
Sports camps are available for rising 7th and 8th grade students from any school district.
*PEF summer programs are not endorsed, favored, sponsored or supported by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District (PVPUSD) or any school or program thereof. Participation in PEF programs is not related to, is not a requirement of, nor is a prerequisite to participation in any PVPUSD sports program, class or team.

INTRODUCING THE 2024 PEF SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Congratulations to our 2024 PEF Senior Scholarship recipients: Katara Chang (Peninsula High School) and Daisy Warner (Palos Verdes High). Each student has been awarded $1,500 to further their post-secondary education. Selected from a pool of remarkable applicants, these outstanding individuals exemplify excellence and promise for the future.
For the past four years, Katara Chang has been a driving force on the basketball court at Peninsula High, currently serving as the varsity team’s captain. Alongside her basketball achievements, she has showcased her athletic versatility as a member of the varsity lacrosse team and even ventured into flag football this year. Beyond sports, Katara lends her voice to the school choir and is also vice president of the Mock Trial team, demonstrating her commitment to both athletics and academics. Katara will be attending the University of California, Berkeley where she will major in applied physics.
Daisy Warner’s journey at PV High School has been marked by her active involvement in Live from 205 for the past 4 years, where she is currently a producer. In addition to her commitment to the varsity swim team, she has also engaged in dual enrollment classes at Harbor College. Daisy’s impact extends beyond her school’s walls as she has also served as a guest speaker at neighboring schools, advocating for mental health awareness and the significance of seeking support when needed. Looking ahead, Daisy is set to embark on her academic journey at SMU in the fall, where she intends to pursue a major in psychology.

SUMMER SCHOOL FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS (TK-5TH GRADES)

June 17 – July 12, 2024
- Onsite at Cornerstone and Dapplegray Elementary Schools from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm (M-F)
- Classes will be organized by grade level and taught by highly qualified teachers representing the finest of the 10 elementary campuses
- “Making Learning Fun” will serve as the primary focus
of our program

Enrichment classes are available everyday from 12-3 pm at Cornerstone. (Open to all students, not just students enrolled in Summer School.)
Kids Corner is available before and after school at Dapplegray.

June 17 – July 12, 2024
- Onsite classes: PVIS and Ridgecrest Schools from
8:15 am – 12:30 pm (M-F)
- Course offerings include both academic and fun-based enrichment options
- Get a sneak preview of what it is like on a middle school campus
- Gain confidence and peace of mind by realizing
that the bigger campus isn’t so big or scary after all
Students may chose to attend either school. They do not need to attend the school that they will be attending in the fall.

- VEX Robotics
- Stage Production for Thespians
