Your Gift Doubles: Help Us Unlock $50,000 for Our Students

Your Gift Doubles: Help Us Unlock $50,000 for Our Students

A generous anonymous family has stepped forward with an incredible challenge: they will donate $50,000 to PEF if our community can raise $50,000 by December 31. It’s an all-or-nothing match, and every gift made right now is instantly doubled.

This opportunity directly strengthens the programs and staff that shape each student’s day across all 17 PVPUSD schools. When you give, you are supporting:

  • School counselors who guide and support student well-being

  • Elementary music and PE teachers who bring creativity and movement into classrooms

  • Library aides who spark curiosity and a love of reading

  • STEM programs that encourage students to think big

  • College and Career Center staff who help students plan for the future

  • Teacher grants that fund hands-on classroom experiences

  • The High School Science & Engineering Fair, where student innovation shines and more!

These are the people and programs that make our schools strong, vibrant, and full of opportunity.

We are racing against the clock to meet this match. Your donation today doesn’t just help us move closer to our goal—it doubles in impact and helps keep essential programs thriving for every student who walks onto our campuses.

Let’s unlock the full $100,000 together.
Let’s finish the year strong.
Let’s do it for our students, our schools, and their future.

Thank you for being part of a community that shows up when it matters most.

Celebrating Excellence in Education: PEF’s Innovators in Education Reception Honors 2025 Chuck Miller Teacher Grant Recipients

Celebrating Excellence in Education: PEF’s Innovators in Education Reception Honors 2025 Chuck Miller Teacher Grant Recipients

At PEF, we understand that teachers are the backbone of our education system. Their passion, creativity, and dedication shape the future of our children. On November 19, we are excited to host the Innovators in Education Reception, an event dedicated to celebrating the 2025 Chuck Miller Teacher Grant recipients. This annual reception brings together educators, Major Donors, and community supporters to honor the innovative work of our local teachers and the positive impact they are making in classrooms across the Peninsula.

The Chuck Miller Teacher Grant is designed to support exceptional teachers who bring creativity and innovation to their teaching methods. These grants enable educators to develop and implement projects that enhance student engagement, foster critical thinking, and create hands-on learning experiences. For many of the grant recipients, the funding is a catalyst for turning their creative teaching ideas into reality – allowing them to enrich the classroom experience and elevate their students’ educational journeys.

An Update on PEF’s Role in Summer High School Sports

An Update on PEF’s Role in Summer High School Sports

The Peninsula Education Foundation (PEF) has always been proud to support programs that enrich the lives of our students – both in and out of the classroom. After careful consideration, PEF’s Board of Trustees has decided to discontinue administering the summer high school sports program.

This decision was made with the best interests of students, families, and coaches in mind. Athletics are an important part of the high school experience, teaching teamwork, leadership, and perseverance.

This change will allow PEF staff to focus on expanding after-school enrichment and enhancing summer school programs. We are confident the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District will continue to provide strong opportunities for student-athletes.

We are deeply grateful to our coaches, athletic staff, and families for their continued support of our students.

Skechers Friendship Walk

Skechers Friendship Walk

Join us on Sunday, October 19, 2025 for the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk! Bring your friends, family and neighbors with you as we walk the pier to pier loop between Manhattan Beach Pier and Hermosa Beach Pier (just over 3.5 miles) and help us raise funds for all of our PVPUSD students, schools and children with special needs.

If you are not able to make it on the 19th, you can register as a “virtual walker” and we will get credit for your participation. Last year, PEF had over 3,600 registered walkers which resulted in a check from Skechers for more than $289,000.

Help us keep this great community tradition going and join your child’s school team by clicking the school name below. And remember to designate PEF as the organization you support!
