On Thursday, May 30, 2024, Peninsula Education Foundation (PEF) proudly acknowledged the Major Donors who have generously contributed $2,500 or more during the 2023-24 school year. These contributions, made by school families, alumni, corporate sponsors, and real estate donors, have been instrumental in supporting students across all 17 schools in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District (PVPUSD).
Thanks to the extraordinary support from the Palos Verdes Peninsula community, PEF successfully met its campaign goal, presenting a check for $2.1 million to PVPUSD. This achievement was celebrated with PEF Executive Director Laura Hughes handing over the check to PVPUSD’s Superintendent Dr. Devin Serrano.
“Our community’s dedication to education and generosity truly makes the Palos Verdes Peninsula special. Our major donors play a crucial role in helping PEF enhance the educational experience for all students within PVPUSD,” remarked Laura Hughes.
For 45 years, PEF has relied on the generosity of parents, community members, and businesses to fund vital programs and teachers. These include elementary music teachers, PE teachers, library aides, comprehensive and academic counselors, STEM programs for grades 6-12, College and Career Center staff, teacher grants, additional teachers, and more. Their contributions have significantly impacted our mission to provide high-quality education to young learners on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
PEF extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the donors for their continued commitment to enriching the academic environment and bolstering the educational journey of our children. Their contributions are vital in ensuring that PVPUSD remains a place where students can thrive and succeed.
