PEF SUMMER VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Looking to make a difference, develop leadership skills, and earn national recognition — all in one summer?
PEF’s Summer Volunteer Program offers high school students the opportunity to support younger students while gaining valuable experience.

What You Will Do:

Volunteers will assist in classrooms, supervise recess, and provide lunch support as part of our Elementary Summer School Program. Flexible morning and afternoon shifts are available, with a minimum one-week commitment required.

Program Highlights:

  • Kickoff & Training: A mandatory orientation and Summer Kickoff event will prepare volunteers for success.
  • End-of-Program Celebration: A special reception will honor volunteers’ contributions.
  • Service Hours Certification: All participants will receive a certificate verifying their volunteer hours.
  • National Recognition: PEF celebrates volunteer service with national Presidential Volunteer Service Awards. Students under 16 need 50 hours for the Bronze Award, while those 16 and older require 100 hours. Silver and Gold Awards are also available. For detailed hour requirements, visit presidentialserviceawards.gov.
  • Networking Opportunities: Expand your network by connecting with PVPUSD teachers and professionals, enhancing your community ties and potential references.

Who We Are Looking For:

We’re seeking responsible, enthusiastic, and caring individuals who enjoy working with children and want to build leadership skills, expand their network, and make a lasting impact.
